Cocker Spaniel Rescue

The Cocker Spaniel breed is one of the most overly bred in the United States. This over breeding was due to their instant popularity. The mass breeding put the breed at great risk. There were too many puppies being born, and not enough owners to take care of them. This is one of the main reasons that there is currently over 1000 homeless Cockers in America today. With such a large number there is a great need for people to adopt these dogs.

Cocker Spaniel Rescue
Cocker Spaniel Rescue organizations all over the country are devoting their time and their effort, to successfully placing as many of these Cocker Spaniels, that they can in new homes. Along with dealing with the current homeless Cocker Spaniel breed, these organizations also rescue dogs that are being abused, abandon by their owners, or facing euthanasia. Once that organization has one of these dogs in their care, the first thing that they do is rehabilitate them. This means that they will immediately seek medical care. Any illnesses that need to be treated or vaccinations that need to be administered will be done at this appointment. The dog must also be spayed and nurtured before they are adoptable.
Most of these organizations are non profit ones. The people that make them run are all volunteers. Cocker Spaniel Rescue organizations are always happy to take any donations that you can give them. Whether it is time, money, or items that the dog need they will accept it with open arms. If you want to help save these dogs contact the rescue organization in your area.
